Habitat for Humanity School Event

Together with Habitat for Humanity we prepared an event hosted at the school. After a short introduction an urban planner did a presentation on sustainable cities. Afterwards, we split up into groups and along with our colleagues made a poster on the very same topic. Finally, we presented the posters to all the participants and our guests. 

The idea itself was challenging, yet marvelous, although like all events, there could have been improvements. The biggest issue was the organization, although definitely not tragic, there were moments where people didn’t know what to do and were just wandering aimlessly. I think this could have been improved by explaining to all participants what the event will involve and how it will be structured beforehand. Fortunately, the event carried out smoothly for the most part, thanks to our leader Aleksander Kanton who did a spectacular job along with the other group leaders. The carefully planned experience was both educative and entertaining. All in all, for us, it was a major success.

Wspólnie z organizacją Habitat for Humanity przygotowaliśmy w naszej szkole warsztaty poświęcone problemom współczesnych miast. Po prezentacji naszego gościa i dyskusji pracowaliśmy nad naszymi projektami samowystarczalnych miast. Na koniec zaprezentowaliśmy je przed uczestnikami i naszymi gośćmi. 

Pomysł sam w sobie był błyskotliwy, ale wymagający. Największym wyzwaniem była organizacja. Mimo że wszystko w zasadzie przebiegało zgodnie z planem, bywały momenty, w których panowało zamieszanie. Sądzę, że moglibyśmy temu zaradzić, przedstawiając plan dnia, przed rozpoczęciem tego wydarzenia. Na szczęście, pomimo kilku drobnych problemów, jak najbardziej udało się sprostać temu wyzwaniu. Nie byłoby to możliwe, gdyby nie fantastyczna praca, którą wykonały osoby przygotowujące. W ten sposób, łącząc przyjemne z pożytecznym, odnieśliśmy duży sukces.
